This year brought some nice world jazz albums, but not that many. The genre is of course very broad, and there is no comparison between the intimistic setting of the two solo cello records here on the list, and the extravert Archie Shepp & Dar Gnawa on the other extreme. The mediterranean world jazz is well-represented with Rabih Abou-Khalil, Myriam Alter, Paolo Fresu and Gato Libre. You can find reviews for each of these albums by clicking on the title.
