Richard Blute

I moved to Canada from the states in 1991 for two years and somehow never left. One night in 1992, I wandered into a free show at the Montreal Jazz Festival and it was a life-changing moment. I practically ran to the music store the next day and I have been obsessed with jazz, especially free jazz, ever since.

I’m a retired professor of mathematics and movie buff, I especially love film noir and horror movies. You can find out more about me, including my mathematical research and favorite music and films, at richardblute.ca.
