Taylor McDowell lives in a small town in Central Washington State with his wife and 115-pound puppy. His first exposure to jazz were of the spacy sounds of Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew," which set him on the course through avant and free music that he enjoys today (though he still maintains that Coltrane's quartet in 1965 is his favorite group). Outside of his musical interests, Taylor is a cartographer by hobby and profession, enjoys wildlife photography, reading historical non-fiction, fly fishing, hiking, camping, etc. His "happy place" is some quiet, remote campsite, sitting around a fire with his wife and dog.
