Happy New Ears - two days to go

With two more days to go for the Happy New Ears Award 2011, it becomes apparent that we have two contenders left for the title :
  • Scoolptures - White Sickness (35% of votes)
  • Joe Hertenstein, Thomas Heberer, Pascal Niggenkemper and Joachim Badenhorst - Polylemma (30% of votes)
Together, they collect two thirds of all votes. Needless to say both bands have and are mobilising fans and family and friends, but I guess that's part of the game.

Two more days to go ...

Both of these, the frontrunners, albums are good and deserve attention. Yet skewed poll numbers, like these, leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi Anonymous,

They're not skewed, they are the result of people getting mobilised to vote. There's nothing wrong with that. It's for sure not a scientific evaluation. It's a poll. The band with the most votes wins. As simple as that. And if as a result your grandma and uncle Bob get to like the music, so much the better. And if they keep reading this blog, all musicians will benefit somehow. So, get a good drink and life will taste a lot better.
